Weekly Air Cargo Highlights | Sanya Airport Launches Intercontinental Cargo Route “Sanya–Tbilisi–Milan”
Expanding Cross-Border E-Commerce Connectivity
On August 25, HNA Holdings’ Sanya Phoenix International Airport officially launched the intercontinental cargo route Sanya–Tbilisi–Milan, operated by Georgian Airways with a Boeing 767-300 freighter. The inaugural flight, carrying 52 tonnes of cross-border e-commerce cargo, departed on August 26. The route is initially scheduled for one flight per month.
Creating a Faster, More Efficient Intercontinental Corridor
This new service connects Sanya to Tbilisi (Georgia) and Milan (Italy)—boosting logistics efficiency and opening up greater access to international markets for Hainan and beyond. It marks a milestone in Sanya Airport’s international cargo development.
Supporting Hainan Free Trade Port Development
With its international cargo supervision warehouse and cross-border e-commerce inspection center, Sanya Airport now offers one-stop customs clearance services, enabling faster processing, lower costs, and stronger global competitiveness.
