Milestone for Cross-Regional Air Cargo Connectivity
On August 14, Xiamen Iport Logistics Group officially inaugurated its first overseas cargo warehouse at Terminal Logistics, Felipe Ángeles International Airport in Mexico City. This marks a new phase of strategic cooperation withAwesome Cargo, laying a solid foundation for building a high-efficiency cross-regional logistics network and expanding into the South American market.
Driven by the rapid relocation of cross-border e-commerce flows toward South America, Mexico City is emerging as a critical gateway between Asia and Latin America, thanks to its strong connectivity with major South American cities.
Strengthening the Xiamen–Mexico Air Bridge
The launch enables direct cargo connectivity between Xiamen and Mexico City, creating a two-way “air bridge” for transshipment. Leveraging Xiamen Airport’s network across China and Southeast Asia, and Mexico City Airport’s hub function toward South America, the project forms a key junction in the global air cargo network.
Since their cooperation began in 2024, Iport Logistics and Awesome Cargo have handled more than 2,200 tonnes of cargo. In 2025, total volume is expected to exceed 5,000 tonnes, with 121.05 tonnes transshipped onward to South America via Mexico City. The partnership has also achieved an on-time performance rate above 95% and improved average customs clearance efficiency by nearly 20%, offering reliable logistics support for cross-border e-commerce.
Connecting Asia, Mexico & South America
With the Mexico City cargo warehouse as a hub, Iport Logistics will continue to strengthen cross-regional air logistics systems, providing more efficient and reliable services for global supply chains.
