Celebrating a New Gateway to China’s “Summer City”

On July 31, 2025, HK Express successfully launched its inaugural direct service between Hong Kong and Guiyang, marking a new milestone in its expansion across mainland China. With Guiyang becoming the airline’s 6th destination in the mainland and its first in Southwest China, HK Express continues to broaden its footprint with meaningful regional connectivity.

A grand inaugural ceremony was held at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, attended by senior leaders from Guizhou Civil Aviation Group, HK Express management, and media representatives.

A Bridge Between Hong Kong and Guizhou
“This route marks a major step in deepening our presence in the mainland market,” said Jeanette Mao, CEO of HK Express. “We’re proud to create an easier and more affordable way for travelers to explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of Guizhou. This new link will also promote stronger economic, tourism, and cultural ties between Guizhou and Hong Kong.”

The route will operate four times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays), making it the only direct connection between Hong Kong and Guiyang offered by a Hong Kong-based carrier.

Connecting Guizhou to Asia and Beyond
With HK Express’ extensive network covering over 30 Asian destinations, travelers from Guizhou can now conveniently access key cities in Southeast and Northeast Asia. As part of the Cathay Group, HK Express passengers can also seamlessly connect through Hong Kong’s international hub to over 100 global destinations.

A Smart Step for “China’s Summer City”
Known as China’s “Summer Capital,” Guiyang offers stunning karst landscapes, ethnic diversity, and deep cultural heritage. The new direct flight not only connects Hong Kong travelers to iconic sites like Huangguoshu Waterfall and Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, but also supports the growing trend of multi-destination tourism across the Greater Bay Area and western China.
