Vietnam’s low-cost champion Vietjet Air has officially launched two new routes connecting Hanoi with Chengdu and Xi’an — two iconic cities in western China. The inaugural flights are set for takeoff on July 1 and July 6, 2025, offering travelers more seamless options to explore the heart of Chinese culture and nature.
Hanoi–Chengdu Takes Off July 1
Departing every Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat at 21:10 from Hanoi’s Nội Bài International Airport, the flight arrives in Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 00:15 the next day.
Return flights depart Chengdu at 01:15 every Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun, landing in Hanoi at 02:25 local time.
Hanoi–Xi’an Begins July 6
Flights depart every Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun at 21:25 from Hanoi, arriving in Xi’an Xianyang International Airport at 01:10.
Return legs take off at 02:10 every Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat, touching down in Hanoi at 04:10 local time.

With these additions, Vietjet invites travelers to admire the ancient wonders of Xi’an, home of the Terracotta Army, and to discover Chengdu’s most beloved residents — the giant pandas. The routes also open new opportunities for cross-border tourism and business in the post-pandemic growth phase.
